Stapleton Road is an unloved area of inner city Bristol. It needed an innovative approach to solve the fly tipping problem.
I spoke to residents, cleaners, shop owners and litterers to allow me to define the underlying problem which was that ‘no one cared’
I designed an award winning solution in the form of rewards for nice gardens and tidy shop fronts. This led to people feeling less isolated and taking more of a pride in their area. Pavements were decorated with sprayed on flowers and attractive flyers made it easy to see when rubbish was going to be collected.
