About the show

“A Night with Mary White” is a interpretation of life through memories, storytelling, and imagination, presented in a domestic yet surrealist space, I have collected my research through others memories and anecdotes and a handful of photography I have attempted and get to know my great grandmother. The stories are open to the interpretation of the viewer.

This work presented in a drawer that will be repurposed to become a room. The drawer interests me as space often holding memories a postcard a few photographs of family members unknown a few old letters were often forgotten of later to be open unexpectedly ready to be open and rediscovered.

Artists statement

My practice focuses on the human imagination fact and fiction and how the human mind created stories through their environments. My research focuses on the folklore, folk medicine, and folk witchcraft throughout history I focus attention on the common person’s close relationship to nature and their understanding of the surrounding environment through practical work, storytelling and intuition, the misinterpretations of health conditions, and the effects nature has on the human body and mind. I am interested in how these images and stories are interpreted through modern eyes and the modern imagination.

Each small piece is £30, the Cabinet is £40. Price of artwork includes postage and packagin.
